City Beautiful LA

is the vision for a theologically inclusive and socially progressive faith community in Los Angeles.

City Beautiful LA is for people who are hungry: hungry for the news that God’s love is for them as they are, hungry for food, as they struggle in poverty and homelessness, hungry for welcome and acceptance in a community. Our mission is to reach all of those who are hungry: spiritually, physically and emotionally.

Our hunger is to serve those who are longing for the good news. Paul wrote to the Romans, “Thus, I make it my ambition to proclaim the good news, not where Christ has already been named, so that I do not build on someone else’s foundation” (Romans 15:20). We are hungry to share the Gospel with those who have been told it isn’t for them. We thirst to preach good news to those who have only experienced bad news.
